The Reflections Art Show exhibits the creativity of high school students through the art of many diverse media. This display of art work done by local high school students, can be found on display for all to see in the Cogar Gallery, which is located in Robert McLaughlin College Center. The public must act fast, because this display of meaningful community connection through the arts, will only be available until Thursday, March 5.
This impactful art show was created with the guidance of 15 art teachers throughout Herkimer County. Justin Como, Associate Professor of Studio Art, took leadership in the Reflections Art Show. This show exhibits a wide range of mixed media including textile art and quilts, drawings, paintings, and 3d art pieces.
Creativity through art helps to uplift students’ voices, and encourages meaningful community connections. This exhibition goes hand-in-hand with Youth Art Month, which focuses on promoting art and art education. The Youth Art Month theme is “The World Needs Art” which is beautifully presented throughout this exhibit.
From ceramic work and paintings to abstract sculptures, this show truly exhibits the creative minds of high school students in Herkimer County today. This show effectively conveys the idea that “The world Needs Art” through the minds of students. In conclusion, the Reflections Art Show represents the endless creativity of young artists and social cohesion in our community.
