At Herkimer College there are a wide variety of clubs everyone can choose from. One of the many clubs you can join on campus is the Anime Club. No matter if it’s discussing manga, watching anime, or just anime in general, there is always something for an anime fan to enjoy.
Anime Club was founded by Professor Daniel Thompsune, and it meets in CA 207 at 12:30 p.m. every Thursday. The club always welcomes new fans.
Professor McLean, one of the professors that is part of the anime club, gave his opinions on anime, including his favorite anime “Cowboy Bebop.” When he was asked about merchandise, he had the following to say: “A lot of the anime that are popular today (One Piece, MHA, Frieren) have a lot of merchandise, but some of it is very expensive because it is imported from Japan. I’d like to buy more but I can’t always afford it!”
Anime can be enjoyed by anyone, but it helps to find the right one to start with. For this, McLean recommended an anime known as My Hero Academia. “I think My Hero Academia is a good starter anime, because it features superheroes, which might be more familiar to an American audience,” said McLean
Anime may even be enjoyed by multiple people to increase friendships or bonds between people. Mclean said that “Anime has helped me form stronger bonds with my kids. Two of my kids are really into anime.”
If you enjoy Japanese games, it’s possible you’ll enjoy anime as well.
