Every Mother Counts believes that maternal health is a Human Right.

“Around the world, too many mothers are dying. In fact, more than 700 women die each day from pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum complications. That’s approximately one woman every two minutes. Safe and respectful maternity care is a fundamental human right. We strive to engage in efforts that will lead to long-lasting health improvements for every mother, everywhere. In 2026, a woman in the U.S. is more likely to die from complications of pregnancy and birth than her mother was a generation ago. This is unacceptable.”
