May 31st, 1911. In Belfast, at Harland & Wolff’s yard, Titanic is in the process of being built. People are gathered around to see Titanic slide into the Harland & Wolff’s yard water. Finally, on March 31st, 1912, Titanic was completed, including the final touches.
April 2nd, 1912. Titanic has her fitting finished and starts her sea trials. With the Titanic successfully passing her sea trials, she would steam on over to Southampton to get ready for the beginning of her maiden voyage.
April 14th, 1912. At 11:40 p.m. the north Atlantic is smooth like glass. Titanic has just hit an iceberg. Titanic takes in water and she only has two hours and 40 minutes to stay afloat.
April 19th, 1912. The U.S. has the first inquiry about the Titanic’s sinking at Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. This, and inquiries to follow would ultimately change safety regulations for ocean liners, including having enough lifeboats for everyone on board.
