by Herkimer has a sport for everyone including esports. Herkimer’s esports team plays against other schools, from two-year colleges to NCAA Division 1 schools.
This would not be possible without the coaches Josh Lanza and Daniel Thompsune, followed by the team’s two captains Jacob Lamphere and Will Hockler. For those interested, Herkimer esports is always accepting new recruits.
Esports are held in Technology Hall room #312. Matches happen every day accept Tuesdays, and start at 6:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. depending on the game. Occasionally, however, there are other gaming events hosted so students have a chance to participate, which helps with retention.
According to Lanza, “all esports are video games, but not all video games are esports.”
