This Wednesday, Edward Heinrichs from the Herkimer Home State Historic Site spoke to Sharon Powell’s American History class from the perspective of a Loyalist during the American Revolution.
Students heard about the reasons that colonists chose to side with the British, and the repercussions of that decision. Heinrichs also explained the differences in the experiences of the British soldier as compared to both the Continental Army and local militias.
The fascinating discussion concluded with a class Q&A.
