From Strong Start to Final Four Finish: Herkimer Keeps Rolling

The Herkimer College baseball team punched its ticket to the Final Four after completing a doubleheader sweep over Onondaga Community College on Saturday.

The Generals powered their way to a 13-5 victory in the opening game before securing the series with an 8-2 win in Game 2.

Herkimer’s offense came alive early in the first matchup, finishing with 13 runs on 13 hits. Thomas Lemonis led the attack with three RBIs, while Adam Weiss and Jude Flint each added two RBIs. Kyle Kristel crossed the plate three times as the Generals maintained pressure throughout the game.

The Generals carried that momentum into the second game, defeating Onondaga 8-2 to clinch their spot in the Final Four. Kristel delivered another strong performance with four hits and two RBIs, while Flint added two hits and scored twice. Cooper Rowell also contributed offensively with an RBI in the victory.

Herkimer combined timely hitting with solid pitching across both contests, limiting scoring opportunities and controlling the pace of play throughout the doubleheader.

With the sweep, the Generals advance to the Final Four, where they will face Hudson Valley Community College at 5:00 PM at Falcon Park, Auburn, NY as they continue their postseason run.
