by Here on campus, we have amazing advisors, people that truly look out for your well-being and success here on campus. Sharon Powell is personally my advisor, and she has helped me get through the year super smoothly.
Powell is an alum of Herkimer and enjoyed her time here. Back in 2015, Powell started her journey working at Herkimer College in the Academic Support Center part time. She tutored mainly history students, then two years ago left her other part-time job to become full-time in the Advisement Center.
She loves this job because she loves students, she also likes to speak to students about her time here and how her time propelled her into more college and then later her profession. She enjoys being able to help make decisions and help guide you in the right direction of success for yourself. She also loves that she knows all her students and the sense of community in the sense that every face has a name, and it feels comfortable. Overall, if you need help in any direction with classes or navigating campus the advisement center is just the place you need to stop into.
